3. Configuring FoneConnector for Daylite

After installing FoneConnector start Daylite, log in to your database and open the Daylite Preferences window. You will notice a new FoneConnector-Icon in the first row under Basic:

Please note: FoneConnector supports only one open Daylite database at a time for performing lookups.

Click on the FoneConnector-Icon - this opens the FoneConnector settings.

3.1 FoneConnector General Tab

Enable FoneConnector
This activates / deactivates FoneConnector as a whole, just in case you temporarily don't want to be notified about incoming calls in Daylite.

Start timer automatically on incoming call
When you receive a call and the Call Window opens in Daylite the timer is started automatically if this option is checked. Otherwise you would have to start the timer yourself manually.

Stop timer automatically on hangup
The timer in the Call Window is stopped automatically when the phone call ends if this option is checked. Otherwise you would have to stop the timer yourself manually. Please note that this option must be supported by the 3rd party telephony system and the appropriate FoneConnector Phone plugin. At this time this works only with STARFACE systems and with Skype.

Logging 1. Object
This defines how incoming calls are logged per default: as Appointments, Tasks or Notes

Logging 2. Object Category
Select a pre-defined category for logging the call as the selected object

Logging 3. Object Default Name
Enter a default text that is used by FoneConnector when logging incoming calls as the selected object. Use the placeholder %name% to substitute the caller's real name.

Show created object ...
This defines if and how a logged incoming call (which is a Task or Appointment) is shown after the call has ended and the Call Window was closed, just in case you want to edit something.

Keep Call Window always above other windows
If this is checked the Call Window of an incoming call is floating above all other windows, just to make sure you don't miss a incoming call notification.

3.2 Phones tab

The Phones tab is where you add and configure FoneConnector Phone Plugins to integrate with various third party telephony solutions* so that FoneConnector gets the caller's phone number to perform the Daylite-lookup.

The Supported Features tab tells you what exact features this currently selected Phone Plugin supports in combination with the third party telephony solution*.

Click on the plus-sign + in the lower left to add one of the included Phone Plugins. Please notice the Apply-button on the lower right: If you configure a selected Phone Plugin you will sometimes have to click on this button for the settings to take effect.

If you add a Phone Plugin please give it a name, so that you can identify it easily. If you don't provide a name the name of the Phone Plugin will be used as a default.

Please keep in mind that one of the supported third party telephony applications* must already be installed and working on your machine and with your existing telephony infrastructure, before you try to integrate it with FoneConnector!

For a description of each Phone Plugin please refer to the individual page in this documentation.

* 3rd party telephony solutions must be obtained/licensed separately and are not included in the FoneConnector distribution. Additional costs apply.

3.3 Update tab

The Update tab allows you to configure, if FoneConnector should check for updates automatically. Alternatively you can trigger the update-check manually at any time by clicking on the Check for updates-button. An active Internet connection must exist for these options to work.

3.4 License tab

If you didn't enter your licence information while installing FoneConnector, this is the place where to enter it. Name, email and a FoneConnector serial-number are required - click on Register after entering the license information. Please make sure you have an active Internet connection as the license will be validated with our servers.

Click on the Buy Online button if you don't have a license yet and want to obtain one.

3.5 About tab

This is where you find version information about the currently installed FoneConnector, contact details and a link to the support site for FoneConnector.
